Aspen Science Center
http://aspensciencecenter.org
The Aspen Science Center’s goal is to bridge the gap between research, education, and passion for sound science. We think that’s pretty spiffy! So when the ASC asked Notebleu Design to make a new website for them, we were thrilled. At the core of the project is a robust content management system that allows administrators to bring material onto the site in any format that their hearts desire. At the same time, the site was built on a well defined structure with a simple navigation scheme, making content easy to find and sort through from the front end.
People’s Press
http://peoplespress.org
People’s Press is a community publishing company in Colorado with a simple premise: communities inspire stories, stories inspire communities; let’s help! They’re at the forefront of a wonderful movement that is helping home-grown literature get the attention that it deserves. Which is to say that when People’s Press approached Notebleu Design to overhaul their website, we were only too happy to oblige.
We pulled out all the stops for this one, making full use of the many features available in ExpressionEngine and its wide assortment of modules and add-ons. The site features a web-cart and payment gateway (thanks to a custom CartThrob implementation) and an intricate weblog system that distributes content dynamically throughout the site based on authorship and subject matter, without being difficult to manage on the back end.
Bolder Thinking
http://www.bolderthinking.com/
The Bolder Thinking Cloud Telephony platform is a revolution in VoIP Call Center technology, so when they asked Notebleu Design to build them a new website, we knew it had to be something… well.. Bolder. We had a lot of fun with this one. Using the eternally wonderful Structure module for ExpressionEngine, we built a robust little back end to manage the clean, grid-based exterior. With a little JQuery thrown in here and there to spice things up, I think we have a winner.
Cairn Mountain Company
http://cairnmtnco.com
Cairn Mountain Company makes the best map out there for finding your way up Mount Rainier. How do I know? I’ve been up the mountain with them! CMC was looking for a simple website to promote their product, but something that can grow as they do. Notebleu Design built the site with scalable templates that can manage and systematize new content as it is added over time.
WE-Cycle
http://we-cycle.org
WE-Cycle is a small not-for-profit operating in Aspen, Colorado. They are trying to bring bike sharing to that community to relieve traffic congestion and curb air pollution from cars. We’re really excited for them!
For this project, Notebleu Design worked with the Content Management System that WE-Cycle already had in place (founded in WordPress), but re-designed and re-coded the site from the ground up, working closely with WE-Cycle to ensure that their goals and mission were always in mind. The result is a simple, to-the-point site with clean, standards compliant markup and some powerful under the hood features, including Ajax forms, complete content customizability, and full use of the WordPress engine and its many features.
RMI Expeditions
http://rmiguides.com
RMI Expeditions is a mountaineering company out of Ashford, Washington. Right at the base of Mt. Rainier. They guide programs up the tallest mountains on earth, and we really enjoy living vicariously through their adventures.
Working with Red Meat Design, Notebleu Design created a navigation schema, homepage, blog system, video page, Facebook identity and content templates for RMI Expeditions.
RMI was looking for a dynamic new way to engage users in their website and in the mountaineering experience that they provide. This began with a revamped homepage, turning most of the attention to imagery of the remarkable places that RMI guides trips around the world. Our process was to simplify and focus the way that visitors receive information through rmiguides.com with the use of a large call-to-action and non-traditional search methods including an interactive map for visualized search.
The blog system was engineered to give RMI a direct link to their community. With a powerful Content Management System powered by ExpressionEngine, the team at RMI has the ability to easily add content, including photographs, audio and video, with automatic support for HTML5 and Flash.
Notebleu Design’s work on the RMI Expeditions Blog was recognized by Show EE. An ExpressionEngine showcase.
La Casa di Citta
http://casadicitta.com
La Casa di Citta is a beautiful vacation villa in Trequanda, Italy, the heart of Tuscany. There are no Italian speakers at Notebleu Design, but working on this project made us want to learn!
For casadicitta.com, we went with the Notebleu Design pure/powerful package, which was designed specifically for web projects that are small, but need to pack a grand punch in the user experience and search engine optimization departments. We built the site on ExpressionEngine, giving us the power to be free in our coding creativity and giving the site owners full content control with a highly efficient and easy-to-use administrators section. Using some custom scripts and JQuery, we built lean, customizable image galleries to lead users through the villa and the surrounding area in an immersive web environment, meant to emulate the experience of really being there.
Aspen Velo
http://aspenvelo.com
Aspen Velo rents and sells some of the nicest bikes ever built, so efficiency of design and coding were our main goals when they asked Notebleu Design to do a “lights out” re-design of their site. They outfitted us with an Ibis Silk SL, we outfitted them with a bold visual design, streamlined and secure reservation system and an interactive trail map for their customers.
