Notebleu Design is a Seattle based web agency specializing in small to medium sized web projects.
With an emphasis on intuitive and elegant website design and powerful but easy-to-use content management systems, Notebleu Design delivers dynamic websites to our clients around the globe.
Notebleu Design was founded by Will Dieterle Hyman in May 2009 with two direct objectives:
- To provide excellent, innovative website design for small to medium sized companies that value attention to detail and standards based architecture.
- To serve the population of artists and arts organizations in the Puget Sound by providing new tools for finding and interacting with the community they serve.
Notebleu Design provides design and consulting services for projects in website design/architecture, graphical design, web development, search engine optimization and branding/identity. In order to provide an excellent experience for our clients, Notebleu Design builds powerful content management systems around the websites that we design. Using ExpressionEngine, Wordpress, or a customized solution as a foundation, we build websites that are as easy for their owners to edit as they are for users to navigate. Notebleu Design is a member of the ExpressionEngine Professional’s Network.
In addition to our work as a design agency, Notebleu Design produces notebleu.com, a revolutionary tool for finding arts events that fit the user’s direct interests and location. Notebleu was conceived as a solution to the growing divide between arts organizations and the community at large. Our belief is that by providing tools which radically simplify the process of discovering and sharing arts information, we can help to nurture and grow the presence of arts within our community.
Notebleu Design also hosts Gallery Notebleu, a space for artists and musicians to share their work in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Openings at Gallery Notebleu occur on the first Friday of every month, in conjunction with Fremont First Friday, Fremont’s monthly art walk.

In addition to his enduring importance as a composer of piano music, Frederick Chopin was also a phenomenal improvisor. As he sat down to his instrument each evening, Chopin would decide upon a “note bleu,” the single musical tone which would serve as the foundation for that night’s fleeting masterpiece. We see the notebleu as a creative beginning a moment after which any artistic statement is possible.
